American Football Association Hall of Famer (Class of 1983) Ray Stanton, Sr. was inducted into the inaugural class of the Greater Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame on April 20 along with 15 other inductees at the Double Tree by Hilton on Water Street in Binghamton.
Ray Stanton was honored for his accomplishments as a founder and player of the TC Jets. Ray played and coached the team from 1970 to 1978 and then coached again in 1997 and 1998. Describing how the team came to be, Ray said: “In 1970 I went to a league meeting in Oneonta and found out they needed another franchise; Came back to Binghamton and started the original Triple Cities Jets and stayed with the team until 1978. Brought the BC Jets back with my son as a quarterback in the late 90’s . So I’ve been at it for a long time and I’ve really enjoyed it.”

The guest speaker was Chris Snee, a native of Montrose, Pennsylvania and former star of the New York Giants.
