American Fork / West High School football game canceled due to COVID-19 protocols

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – COVID-19 security protocols forced the cancellation of the high school football game between No.5 American Fork Cavemen and No.15 West Panthers.

The game was canceled on Wednesday August 25, two days ahead of the scheduled Friday August 27 date.

American Fork vs. West was the second game to be called off on Wednesday.

The Cavemen vs. Panthers will no longer take place due to COVID-19 issues in West’s schedule, a source told KSLSports.com. The game was scheduled to take place at West High in Salt Lake City, Utah.

After two weeks of the high school football season, American Fork is ranked No.5 in the state and is 2-0 this season. The Cavemen opened the season with a victory over the Granger Lancers. American Fork followed that game with a win over the Weber Warriors.

West is currently at 1-1 this season having split games in the first two weeks of the season. The Panthers started the season with a victory over the Clearfield Falcons before suffering a loss to the Herriman Mustangs last week.

American Fork’s next game is against JSerra Catholic, Calif., On September 4.

West’s next scheduled game is against the Cyprus Pirates on September 3.
