BROOKINGS, SD (KELO) – More than 19,000 fans packed Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium on Saturday afternoon for the rival SDSU vs. USD soccer game.
Before the match started, supporters dressed in blue, yellow and red gathered outside the stadium for a morning of tailgating.
Fans young and old got ready to cheer on their teams.

“I went to college there, I support them (USD) all the time and will definitely continue to follow them, they are my alma mater,” said USD fan Jeanne Hill.
“My parents graduated from SDSU so it’s in our blood, I’ve been here, I’ve enjoyed my time here and I love going to the games, now it’s fun to take my kids and watch them “said SDSU fan Craig Holbeck.
Fans say they will cheer for their team whether they win or lose.
“It’s always fun!” It doesn’t matter if we win or lose, you always have a great time and our fans are really awesome and the other fans are good too so we’re going to have fun,” said SDSU fan Char Strande.
It was the second-highest fan attendance at a college game in South Dakota history. The Jackrabbits took the W in Saturday’s game 28-3.
