Boxscore NEW YORK (April 7, 2021) The FIFA Council Bureau suspended the Chadian Football Federation (FTFA) with immediate effect due to government interference.

The suspension of FIFA was prompted by the Chadian government authorities to permanently withdraw the powers delegated to the FTFA, to create a national committee for the temporary management of football and to take control of the FTFA premises.

The Chadian sports ministry withdrew the delegation of power granted to the FTFA for insubordination and lack of collaboration. Later, a provisional football management committee was created by Chadian President Idriss Déby.

FIFA’s suspension comes as no surprise as the Confederation of African Football (CAF) disqualified Chad’s national team from the total Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on March 22.

As a result, the scheduled qualifying matches between Namibia (match 106) and Mali (match 130) for CAN Total 2021 have been canceled.

According to FIFA, the suspension will be lifted once the relevant government decisions are repealed and the FTFA and its management, headed by President Moctar Mahamoud Hamid, confirm to FIFA that the FTFA premises are once again under its control. control.
