Ahmedabad: The Gujarat State Football Association (GSFA) has congratulated the newly elected President of the Indian Football Federation (AIFF), Shri Kalyan Chaubey in Ahmedabad today. While addressing the gathering, Shri Kalyan Chaubey expressed gratitude to Shri Parimal Nathwani and GSFA for nominating him from Gujarat in the AIFF presidential election. “For the first time in 85 years of AIFF history, a person who has played football has been elected President. This only became possible when Shri Parimal Nathwani gave me a chance to serve Indian football naming me from Gujarat,” Chaubey said.
He also reiterated his commitment to the growth of football in India and taking Indian football to the next level. “We have mapped out a roadmap for the growth of football in India. We will reach out to pupils from around 18,000 schools with football pitches and create a pool of around 18 lakh pupils, who will learn the basic skills of football. Among these students, we will have good players after five to ten years, who can represent India at the international level,” he said.
