The international scene being rather calm, only a few major events have occurred in recent days. For starters, transfer windows across Europe have opened and transfer talks are well underway.
The biggest transfer story to come out of England is that Uruguay striker Darwin Nunez may have snubbed Manchester United to join fierce rivals Liverpool as they seek UEFA Champions League football.
There are also still concerns over Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at the Red Devils. Will the Portuguese veteran stay at a club that cannot offer him Champions League football next season, or will he leave Old Trafford? Will a UCL team sign Ronaldo?

Another big talking point was Lionel Messi’s five-star performance in a friendly against Estonia. Magical Messi scored an incredible five goals in that game, becoming the first player in history to score five times in a single match at club level and for his country.
Just before this match, however, Kylian Mbappe apparently disrespected the South American game by saying that teams there are weaker than in Europe, so it was only fitting that Messi would dominate a European team that Mbappe would face.
