Miami offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee must be excited to play at FSU. The Hurricanes burned the Seminoles for 517 yards last season. Miami quarterback D’Eriq King threw for 317 yards and the Hurricanes ran for 200. The Hurricanes have one of the best lines in the QB, running back and wide receiver.

Miami QB Tyler Van Dyke threw for at least 325 yards in three straight games, the first time a Hurricanes QB has accomplished this since Bernie Kosar in 1984. Jaylan Knighton has totaled 584 yards and seven touchdowns in the last four games . Charleston Rambo has 23 receptions for 438 yards and three touchdowns in his last three games.

Florida State has an anemic passing attack, but their running attack can be dangerous with QB Jordan Travis and RB Jashaun Corbin. Corbin is fifth in the ACC for rushing yards per game. Miami’s run defense has improved. Miami is currently ranked sixth in the ACC for rushing yards allowed per game.

The Hurricanes were tough against the race against North Carolina State and Pittsburgh, but fell back on Saturday against Georgia Tech. Miami must be able to stop the race against Florida State. The Hurricanes offense should continue to roll at Doak Campbell Stadium. Expect the Hurricanes to win and cover the 2.5 points.

The plus / minus is a trickier bet on Saturday. Miami and Georgia Tech pushed the 63 plus / minus points in the Hurricanes’ 33-30 win. Miami and Florida State’s 61 plus / minus points would have been exceeded by one point in the Hurricanes’ 52-10 win at Hard Rock Stadium in 2020.

Miami is highly unlikely to blow up Florida state on Saturday like they did in 2020. The Hurricanes were successful defensively against FSU under Manny Diaz. In the last four meetings between Miami and Florida State, the Seminoles have averaged 17.4 points per game. Miami will need some pressure.

Miami has 14 sacks in the past two seasons against the Seminoles. The Hurricanes haven’t had the dominant rusher they did over the past two seasons with Jaelan Phillips and Gregory Rousseau. Zach McCloud leads Miami with 4.5 sacks. No other Hurricane has more than 2.5 bags.
