Now 22, he joined the Istanbul Rams, who joined the expanded European Football League ahead of the 2022 season.

Upon signing for the Turkish franchise, the running back said: “Signing with the [Istanbul] Rams feels like an honor and a privilege. They are really building something special that makes me want to be one of the pioneers to make this franchise a dominant European force.”

He added: “For the upcoming 2022 season, I want to help the Rams show that despite joining the European Football League for the second year, we are great players in the league.”

Johnson-Fisher, in a BBC interview after his release from Bristol, admitted he was well below the standard required at the Gallagher Premiership club.

“Literally every aspect of my game was nowhere near good enough,” he said in July 2020.

“My passing – short, medium and long – the timing of a pass, my transmission, my high balls, my kicking, my understanding of the game, I really only ever understood football and athletics, not rugby.” I had so many things to work on and mentally it was very difficult.”

After closing the rugby union chapter, he traveled to America to play at a junior college in Kansas. Two years later, he’s now set to shine on Europe’s biggest American football platform.

Rams head coach and general manager Val Gunn said: ‘We’ve been on Tyrese [Johnson-Fisher] for a long time. He’s going to be a special player in this league, and I can’t wait for him to show his skills on the pitch.” He added: “He adapts very well to our system and gives us another dynamic playmaker on the pitch. the Rams offense.”
