regular season – FC Dnepr Wed, 16 Mar 2022 17:15:26 +0000 en-US hourly 1 regular season – FC Dnepr 32 32 RTL Today – American football: Raiders release Nassib, the first openly gay player in the NFL Wed, 16 Mar 2022 17:15:26 +0000

Defensive end Carl Nassib, the NFL’s first openly gay active player, was released by the Las Vegas Raiders on Wednesday, according to a report on the NFL’s website.

Nassib had 49 tackles, four quarterback sacks and one interception in two seasons with the Raiders, who will save $8 million over two years with the move to NFL salary cap rules.

Nassib, 28, said he was gay in an Instagram post last June.

“I just wanted to take a little moment to say I’m gay,” Nassib posted last year. “I’ve wanted to do this for a while now, but I finally feel comfortable doing it. I really have the best life, the best family, the best friends and the best job that a guy could ask for.”

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was among those who expressed support for trailblazer Nassib.

“The NFL family is proud of Carl for courageously sharing his truth today,” Goodell said last June in a statement.

The move allows Nassib to sign with any club, although it will likely be for less than the $7.75 million base salary he had with the Raiders.

Mike Mayock, who signed Nassib, was fired in January as the Raiders signed new general manager Dave Ziegler and new coach Josh McDaniels after a first-round exit from the NFL playoffs, their first post-season appearance since 2016.

Nassib played six seasons in the NFL, starting with the Cleveland Browns, who selected him in the third round of the 2016 draft.

He played two years for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before joining the Raiders in 2020.

Michael Sam was the first openly gay player selected in the NFL Draft, led by the former St. Louis Rams in 2014. Sam played preseason games for the Rams and was briefly on the team Dallas Cowboys practice but never entered a regular season contest.

Sam played one game in 2015 with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League before retiring.

American football star Tom Brady ends his retirement and prepares for the return of the NFL Mon, 14 Mar 2022 08:45:18 +0000

Brady, 44, who announced his retirement on Feb. 1, says he’s ‘coming back’ for his 23rd season

Tom Brady, the seven-time Super Bowl champion, announced his return to the NFL on Sunday after a brief retirement.

“Over the past two months I have realized that my place is always on the pitch and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates and I love my family who support me . They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. LFG unfinished business,” Brady, 44, announced on Twitter.

Brady retired from American football on February 1.

His last club Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the NFL have both confirmed his return.

The Buccaneers said they were “ecstatic” about Brady’s return.

Brady spent 22 seasons, playing for the New England Patriots in 2000-2019 and then the Buccaneers.

He joined the Buccaneers in 2020 to win Super Bowl LV, the 55th playoff championship game.

Six of Brady’s Super Bowl championships were with the Patriots, while his final victory came with the Buccaneers last year.

During his career, the American quarterback was named five times Super Bowl MVP (most valuable player) and three times NFL MVP.

The 2022 NFL regular season will begin on September 8.

Expert advice: betting on American football Wed, 09 Mar 2022 16:50:28 +0000

There is one league in the United States – the National Football League or better known as the NFL. As with basketball, there is the NCAA Football College Championship, which compares teams from all colleges in America, which are divided into conferences and divisions.

We will be focusing on the NFL as college football is difficult to watch due to many games. The NFL football season starts with 4 preseason games and ends with the Super Bowl, one of the most watched sporting events of the year, usually in early February.

betting on american football

Learn more about the game

The regular season consists of 16 games for each team, divided into 17 rounds (each team rests in one of the rounds – this is called a bye week). Thirty-two teams in the league are divided into 2 conferences – AFC and NFC, and each conference has 4 divisions. The teams that finished 1st in each of the divisions and the 2nd teams in the conference, which have the most points of all the other teams, continue in the playoffs – this is called the wild card. Some teams are more popular than others and often use content marketing to promote themselves.

The teams ranked 1st and 2nd among the 4 champions of each division benefit from a break during the first week of the playoffs, and the teams ranked 3rd and 4th meet the teams 6th and 5th, placed with a joker. The teams in the first 2 places are also the hosts of the next matches – in the playoffs (except in the superbowl), the team still welcomes them with a higher position heading into the playoffs.

Thus, 2 teams must remain on the principle of elimination – the winners of the playoffs in the two conferences, NFC and AFC, who meet at the Super Bowl to determine the NFL champion and winner of the Lombardi Trophy.

Betting opportunities
Handicap betting

Handicap bets are the most popular bet on american football because it’s similar to football and basketball – the favorite team receives a handicap with a negative sign (-) and the appropriate number of points which are “deducted”. After the match ends, the underdog has a handicap with a positive (+) sign and their points are added at the end of the match.

The points are always the same for both teams in the game – for example, the New England Patriots (-10.5) against the Miami Dolphins (+10.5). If the New England Patriots win 30-10, whoever bet on HC -10.5 wins the bet. The odds of this type of handicap range from 1.80 to 2.05.

The end result (Moneyline)

There are also markets for the end result, but in most cases the odds of favorites are low. This type of market is popular mainly in questionable games, the conference finals or the Super Bowl. The options are a win for the host or guest as draws are not in standard bets but are usually in a “special” game due to the rarity of this outcome. The odds are different and this market is analogous to the 1X2 market in world football.

Total points

The third popular market is the total number of points of the two teams. It represents the sum of the points that both teams earned during the match because LESS and MORE almost always have odds of 1.90 or 1.95.

The only variable is the “line” of points, and for each game it is different – in most cases between 35.0 and 55.0 (of course, there are games in which the “line” is less than 30 or greater than 55). By default, the total number of points is between 40.0 and 50.0 for matches. The rules for LESS and MORE in other sports also apply here.

Other types of bets

Less popular bets are bets on team points, win difference, first team to 10, 20, 30… and at half time. Additionally, some of the bookmakers offer betting for certain matches and for individual performance – most yards run, most yards passed and most yards passed. These markets are extremely unpopular and are only intended for the most demanding players.

To summarize

Even though American football is not as popular outside of North America, there are still excellent betting opportunities. Learning more about the game and how it works could be a great opportunity to win.

Rivalo Acquires Main Sponsorship of La Liga BFA, South America’s Premier American Football League – European Gaming Industry News Sat, 05 Mar 2022 06:45:00 +0000 Reading time: 3 minutes

Rivalo has just acquired the main sponsorship of the Brazilian Football League, Liga BFA. With 45 teams and more than 4,000 participants, the tournament is the premier American football competition in South America.

Held between June and November, there will be approximately 100 modality matches in over 18 states across the country, achieving the status of the modality’s largest tournament in the Southern Hemisphere.

With the support of Rivalo, the competition will feature games broadcast on ESPN, in addition to other singles and weekly inserts, both in the ESPN league and throughout the NFL regular season.

According to Guilherme Bucchi, Brazil Acquisition Manager at Rivalo, this agreement is fundamental for Rivalo, as it supports an evolving sport.

“We have decided to support the American football community in Brazil through BFA. They are doing an admirable job in developing the sport and we will support the sport to grow even more,” he commented.

Rivalo activations throughout the BFA League

Through this partnership, the bookmaker’s brand will gain massive visibility across a range of static, physical and digital properties. The list includes two billboards in the six conference finals, in addition to the Brasil Bowl (BFA League final). There will also be highlights on ESPN broadcasts, as well as the brand painted on both endcourts, or the 20-yard line in the playoffs mentioned above.

Additionally, Rivalo will have the right to appear in the top right of broadcasts and in full screen during all broadcasts on official BFA League channels. Display of the brand in content developed daily on Instagram, Youtube, Facebook and Twitter and insertions in specific League campaign publications, such as player cards.

The betting company’s activations in partnership with La Liga BFA will result in the creation of digital tournaments, with naming and broadcasting rights on the competition’s social networks, as well as a weekly attraction on the official League channel , with competition news and space for activations involving Rivalo.

BFA TIPS BY RIVALO (March to December)

Each week on the BFA Youtube channel, the presenter will receive guests from all the teams to analyze the week’s matches, and will act as “Tipsters”, giving Rivalo betting tips. The intention is to tackle other sports with odds on Rivalo’s own platform. Each guest (Tipster) will promote their respective team’s ‘RIVALO BOWL’ campaign.

Growth of American football in Brazil

According to a recent study, Brazil ranks as the second largest NFL market outside of the United States. With an expressive following, Brazil has become one of the NFL’s main commercial hubs since this year. Therefore, the BFA can be considered one of the gateways for the North American league in the country.

Moreover, a survey conducted by the federal government highlighted that American football is in the Top 10 most watched and most bet sports in Brazil. This public interest was one of the factors that caught the attention of Rivalo, who is also willing to collaborate in the process of expanding the sport in the country.

Note that since 2019, women’s football is part of the BFA. The Brasil Bowl Feminino aired on ESPN, showing the strength of the sport in the country. This year, the competition will have the same contest model and more participating teams. The decision, once again, will be broadcast on ESPN channels.

For Eduardo Ferreira, commercial director of BFA, the partnership with Rivalo is a source of satisfaction for American football in Brazil.

“Having Rivalo as an official partner of the BFA is something truly unprecedented in Brazil. Being alongside a company that is a global benchmark in betting puts us on a much higher level, giving credibility to our League,” he said.

The pioneering spirit of the sports bookmaker was also highlighted by the director:

“Rivalo will bring growth, professionalism and innovation to Brazilian football, becoming a pioneer in this modality. The trust that Rivalo places in BFA will certainly be a bond of relevance, gratitude and reciprocity,” he added.

Germany eagerly awaits Bucs arrival for football match Wed, 02 Mar 2022 22:09:00 +0000

MUNICH, Germany — Every NFL team has pledged to play at least one game in Europe every eight years. In 2022, the Buccaneers will play the first ever regular season game in Germany. Munich is set to host a booming market when it comes to fan interest.

“The TV numbers were going up pretty steeply for the NFL. The merchandising numbers were going up. The meta numbers were going up,” said Alexander Steinforth, NFL general manager for Germany. “Everyone was really excited about the German market. In terms of fan engagement, in terms of fandom, it’s actually number one or two in the world. So that was the point of start. That was the starting point to bring a game on A to Germany.”

Germany hosted pre-season games and had multiple teams during the NFL Europe and World League run. England have hosted regular season NFL games since 2007, and fans know these are on a different level.

“Ten, fifteen percent of the people attending the games in London were actually from Germany,” Steinforth said. “So a lot of interest in watching a good NFL regular season game. That’s why everyone’s so excited now.”

Steinforth, a former Manchester United and German Bundesliga football executive, said the Bucs had an aggressive marketing plan that would involve more German fans in the game than they could only watch on TV.

“For the past two years they’ve just been following the sport outside of Germany, without having a proper physical connection to what’s going on there in the United States,” he added. “I think it’s a very smart move by the Bucs to go to Germany.

The Buc’s opponent and playing time will be announced in May. The Carolina Panthers, Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots were the other three franchises granted marketing rights in Germany.

Serie A stars who love the NFL and American football Fri, 18 Feb 2022 10:30:07 +0000

There has always been a healthy respect between American football players and their soccer counterparts, with many NFL quarterbacks and receivers starting their athletic journeys as college footballers, before being scouted by NCAA teams. and the NFL.

Although few football players have ever played a serious game of American Football, many of them are starting to get the American Game Virus, especially as more and more NFL regular season games are held in London and that many NFL franchise owners also buy football. clubs in Europe and around the world.

Here we detail some of the Serie A stars past and present who have been huge NFL fans for some time, with many attending games in person or even hosting a or two Super Bowl parties.

NFL cheerleaders are just one reason football players are increasingly drawn to the sporting spectacle that is American football.

Weston McKennie

It makes sense to start things off with one of America’s Serie A cohorts, in the form of Juventus superstar Weston McKennie. The forward was the very first American to sign for the Old Lady, and she hasn’t regretted her decision, even offering McKennie a permanent contract in 2021.

Along with his offensive prowess and flair, McKennie also spreads his love for American football within the Turin football fraternity and is known for throwing a Super Bowl party for his teammates when he was plying his trade in Bundesliga at Schalke. It’s unclear if he’s done the same for the Juventus side, but it looks like it’s just a matter of time.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

This mercurial Swedish striker is still on the books at Milan and still appears on the weekly odds lines despite being one of the oldest players in Europe. He has long made it known that if he were so inclined, he would be just as popular with oddsmakers and NFL sports bettors as he has been in professional football. He made that clear during an interview while at LA Galaxy, in which he insisted he would only bow out in the NFL if he could play with Tom Brady. Sure, current NFL betting odds are unlikely to feature either Ibra or Brady, especially as the latter recently announced his retirement from the game, but that might not stop the big Swede from inviting the quarterback to San Siro in the future.

It’s not uncommon for an American football to be tossed about on a Serie A training ground, as coaches are always on the lookout for new drills and warm-up techniques.

Luciano Spalletti

There’s something about Roma managers enjoying the gladiatorial nature of the Super Bowl and the NFL in general. Old Giallorossi Boss Luciano Spalletti took inspiration from the 2017 Super Bowl to show his proteges that anything is possible. Indeed, Tom Brady and Co had overturned a seemingly insurmountable 25-point deficit to beat the Atlanta Falcons.

Jose Mourinho

The Portuguese is Roma’s current gaffer, and just like Spalletti, he’s in the grip of the momentum changes that can come in an NFL game. He became particularly drawn to American football during his time in the Premier League, when he visited NFL regular season games which were held at both Wembley and the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Ronaldo is so present in the world of sport that he has transcended football to become a globally recognized celebrity. This once led to Johnny Manziel recreating the forward’s goal celebration after the quarterback threw a touchdown.

The former Juventus star also got in on the act of supporting the Super Bowl. In 2018 he changed profile pictures on his social media feedsto show him wearing an American football outfit in an NFL locker room.

Van Jefferson won the Super Bowl yesterday, and that wasn’t even the best part of his weekend.

The Rams wide receiver welcomed a newborn son hours after Los Angeles beat the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20.

Jefferson’s wife, Samaria, attended the Super Bowl, but left on a stretcher during the game after giving birth. Samaria had previously told the Rams not to tell her husband if their second child decided to arrive during the game.

After the Rams finished Cincinnati, Jefferson rushed to the hospital to join her, later posting a photo of him holding his son.

Jefferson had four catches for 23 yards in the Rams’ win over the Bengals to end his second NFL season.

Tom Brady: who is the American football player – and why wasn’t he in the Super Bowl? Mon, 14 Feb 2022 14:33:50 +0000 The LA Rams won their second Super Bowl trophy in the absence of seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady.

The 2022 Super Bowl took place last night (Sunday, February 13, 2022) with the Los Angeles Rams winning for the second time in their history.

With just a minute and 25 seconds left on the clock, Cooper Kupp scored his second touchdown of the game and gave the Rams their second NFL title.

Not only did Kupp score two touchdowns, but the 28-year-old wide receiver was later named the game’s most valuable player.

Fans around the world were not only treated to such a triumphant football spectacle, but Dr. Dre also put on an iconic halftime show that included Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and Mary J Blige.

Cooper Kupp won this year’s Super Bowl MVP award

There was, however, a noticeable absence from the Los Angeles SoFi Stadium. Tom Brady, the former American football player and one of the best quarterbacks in the world was not present for the game after his recent retirement from the sport.

The team of the seven-time Super Bowl winner, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was eliminated in the final stages of divisional play and was not present for the playoffs.

Following their exit from competition, the 44-year-old American icon announced his retirement from the game.

Who is Tom Brady?

Brady was born in San Mateo, Calif., and was selected 199th overall by the New England Patriots in the 2000 NFL Draft.

In his early days in American football, Brady was never considered a talent and it was only after his first seasons with the Patriots that his prowess was noticed and he was later considered one of the biggest draft flights.

Brady played for the Patriots through 2019 and won six Super Bowl champions as well as four Super Bowl MVP titles with them.

In 2019, Brady announced he was moving to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and he helped his new team win the 2021 Super Bowl.

The 44-year-old holds nearly every major quarterback record, including passing yards, completions, touchdown passes and games started.

He has never had a losing season and is the NFL leader in career quarterback wins, regular season quarterback wins, playoff wins and being the only footballer to winning the Super Bowl MVP title for two different franchises.

Brady was also unanimously named for the 100th all-time anniversary in 2019 and is the only NFL quarterback named to two teams in all decades (2000s and 2010s).

When did Tom Brady retire?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers advanced to the divisional playoffs but suffered a shock loss to the ultimate Super Bowl winners, the LA Rams. The Rams beat the Buccs 30-27, ejecting Brady and his team from a competition he has won more than any other player.

Brady played for the New England Patriots for almost 20 years

It had been speculated that Brady would retire if the Buccs didn’t make it to this year’s Super Bowl, but previous suggestions from Brady himself had indicated he wanted to play until he was 45. at least.

Taking to Twitter in early February, the most successful quarterback in NFL history announced he would be retiring: “It’s hard for me to write, but here goes. I will no longer make this competitive commitment. I’ve loved my NFL career, and now it’s time to focus my time and energy on other things that need my attention.

“I thought a lot last week and I asked myself some difficult questions. And I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished. My teammates, coaches, competitors and fans deserve 100% from me, but for now it is best that I leave the playing field to the next generation of dedicated and committed athletes.

When is the next NFL season?

The 2022 NFL season will begin with the LA Rams as champions on Thursday, September 8, 2022 and end on Sunday, January 8, 2023.

What the Rams had to say Thu, 10 Feb 2022 08:00:00 +0000 Reading time: 3 minutes.

The madness of Super Bowl week began on Monday. The Rams took the mic to address the media. We spoke with six of the NFC champions. Let’s hear what they had to say in the lead up to the Super Bowl.

Creating pressure and managing pressure

Although he grew up as a lazy kid, Aaron Donald started training with his dad when he was 12 and got into shape. After dominating at Pitt, Donald became arguably the best player in the league. He had doubts about the Rams. It was when they were struggling under Jeff Fisher. Since the arrival of Sean McVay, he no longer wants to leave.

Donald was ready to renew his contract and considered his options, looking for a team to win. But, after meeting Sean McVay during the Rams hiring process, he was hooked. As long as McVay is there, Donald will dominate in Los Angeles.

Aaron Donald also told us how he beats the all-important attention he gets from the offensive lines, he’s always looking for the advantage no matter which direction the line moves to limit his ability. The considerable star power around him in the front seven also helps him find opportunities to get into the backfield.

Donald and teammate Von Miller both have Super Bowl experience, but Miller has a ring to show. Miller told his teammates to embrace the emotions. He doesn’t want them to peak mentally or physically too soon to prevent the big game from affecting performance.

Offensive Superstars

Four weeks ago, Matt Stafford hadn’t won a playoff game. Three victories later, he is preparing for a first Super Bowl. Despite last week’s week off, he says it’s not like other weeks off. No one was taking off from the city, everyone did everything they could.

There are clear comparisons between Stafford’s trade to the Rams and Tom Brady’s move to Tampa Bay, the Rams QB didn’t think about the GOAT before the trade. Brady was in a very different situation after winning six Super Bowls, while the Lions haven’t won a playoff game in 30 years.

Although he said the Rams didn’t feel like a superstar team inside the building, Stafford was full of praise for his receivers. Cooper Kupp – who enjoyed playing with so many superstars – was “tremendous,” approaching 2,000 yards in the regular season as the driving force behind the offense. Meanwhile, Odell Beckham Jr has done well to learn offense without an OTA or pre-season to find a rhythm with Stafford or the other receivers.

Cooper Kupp added motivation to perform on Sunday. He missed the Super Bowl three years ago due to injury. As the team improved and progressed through the playoffs, it became harder and harder to watch, although he was happy for his teammates.

Kupp went into great detail about how he disguises his routes, though he doesn’t want to reveal his secrets. In the end, it all comes back to basics, making every route a starting route. Beyond that is the nuance to maneuvering the defender’s hips and leverage, depending on how the corner lines up. Training against the best against the best, like Jalen Ramsey, has helped each player on the team improve individually.

Offensive Power

The Rams become the second team to play the Super Bowl at home. It’s an advantage Cam Akers is looking forward to when preparing for the game. Akers knew from day one that the Rams would be competing for the Super Bowl this season, even with his injury.

Akers enjoyed earning snaps from Sony Michel, who brings additional Super Bowl experience from New England. Ball carriers contribute together, eliminate each other’s mistakes and reinforce each other.

For others, it’s a bit strange working with coach Sean McVay. Andrew Whitworth likes the coach but finds it weird with a younger coach. The worst part is that McVay can beat Whitworth, but the Tackle can’t fight back!
