The San Angelo Standard Times announced its All-West Texas football teams on Friday. The Coleman Bluecats were well represented with eight recognized players. Congratulations to these players: Senior Ryland Gentry, Co-Defensive Player of the Year; Newcomer of the Year Sophomore Brent Bouldin; Sophomore Jadin Jackson, quarterback; Junior Braxton Smith, wide receiver; Elders Gus Allen and Jeryd Fain, linemen; Senior Christian Villeda, kicker; Senior Devinar Roberson, utility back. CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE YEAR

Ryland Gentry, Coleman

  • 6-1, 190, Jr.
  • The Bluecats linebacker totaled 113 tackles, including 51 solos and 15 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, 2 breakups, 2 rushes, 2 sacks and 1 interception. He also rushed for 870 yards and 13 touchdowns. He was the Division I MVP for District 4-2A. (Shared with Cayden Morgan, Forsan)

NEW OF THE YEAR

Brent Bouldin Coleman

  • 5-11, 170, Sophia.
  • Bouldin was the defensive newcomer of the year for the 4-2A District Division I champions who lost no regular season games and finished 11-1 after reaching the regional semifinals. He finished with 80 total tackles, including 36 solos. He also had 7 tackles for a loss, 2 rushes and a QB sack.

OFFENSE

QUARTERBACKS

Jadin Jackson, Coleman

  • 5-9, 170, Sophia.
  • Jackson was the Division I Offensive MVP for District 4-2A. He threw for 934 yards and 12 touchdowns and rushed for 910 yards and 16 scores.

WIDE RECEIVERS

Braxton Smith, Coleman

  • 5-8, 140, Jr.
  • The Bluecats wide receiver had 19 receptions for 400 yards (average of 21 yards) and 6 touchdowns.

LINERS

Gus Allen Coleman

  • 6-1, 250, Sr.
  • Allen was a big part of the Bluecats’ remarkable season. He got a score of 92% with 22 pancake blocks and 27 collapsible blocks.

Jeryd FainColeman

  • 6-2, 295, Sr.
  • Fainn also stood out on the O line for the Bluecats. He got 91% with 21 pancake blocks and 38 knockdowns.

SPECIAL/UTILITY TEAMS

KICKER

Christian Villeda, Coleman

  • 5-9, 150, Sr.
  • The Bluecats kicker was 4 of 6 on field goal attempts with a long 33 yards. He made 46 of 52 PAT attempts.

UTILITY BACKS

Devinar Roberson, Coleman

  • 5-10, 140, Sr.
  • Roberson had 19 punt and kickoff returns for 300 yards and 1 TD.
