The Football Association signs a multi-year partnership with Nike

The Football Association (FA) has signed a new multi-year collaboration with US-based sportswear company Nike. Nike will seek to further its commitment to women’s football with this agreement.

Nike will be the Official Ball Supplier for the Barclays Women’s Super League (BWSL), Barclays Women’s Championship (BWC) and FA Women’s Continental Tires League Cup under the agreement.

Navin Singh, Chief Commercial Officer of the FA, said: “Nike is continually pushing the boundaries when it comes to investing in women and giving them the opportunity to succeed, which is exactly what we strive to do in women’s football.

“It’s a really positive step for both parties, and I look forward to working with them in the future.”

Nike has worked with the FA since 2013. The FA’s association with Nike, as a not-for-profit company, has been characterized as invaluable in terms of providing major investment opportunities at all levels.

The company also said promoting elite football is key to motivating and providing opportunities for current and future generations of women and girls to join the sport.

Whitney Malkiel, Vice President of Global Women’s at Nike, said: “The energy in women’s football in England at the moment has never been higher as we enter this partnership with the FA at such a critical time in our long-standing efforts to help continue to develop women’s football. .”

Additionally, the Nike Flight ball innovation will be used for the first time in the BWSL, BWC and Continental Tires League Cup when the new football season begins. Aerowsculpt technology uses the surface characteristics of the ball to help air move more easily.
