The Ross County pair face a Scottish Football Association hearing after challenges

Ross County couple Ross Callachan and Jack Baldwin have been cited in retrospect by the Scottish Football Association’s compliance officer for the challenges they faced in last weekend’s Premiership victory over Kilmarnock.

Midielder Callachan was booked for a 38th minute foul on Ryan Alebiosu which angered the Killie side before being sent off later in the game for a second bookable offence. However, it emerged on Tuesday that his initial yellow card had been replaced with a straight red, meaning he is now likely to serve a two-match ban instead of missing just one game.

Defender Baldwin also had his second-half booking for a foul on Kerr McInroy upgraded to a red card following a review by the compliance officer.

A statement from Ross County read: “Following Saturday’s game with Kilmarnock, the SFA Compliance Officer informed us today that Ross Callachan has been handed a two-match ban for his red card.

“Jack Baldwin also received a retrospective red card and a two-match ban.”

Both players face a hearing on Thursday.

County will face Rangers at Ibrox this Saturday.
