The reception was attended by Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Mohannadi, Vice-President of QFA, Mansour Al Ansari, General Secretary of QFA, Ali Daoud, Executive Director of the Office of the President of QFA, and Mushtaq Al Waili, Executive Director of strategic and institutional planning office. of the QFA.

The president of the QFA received the American delegation to discuss the strengthening of relations between the two countries. The two also discussed issues of mutual interest.

Sheikh Hamad highlighted the distinguished relationship between the Qatari and US football federations, highlighting future possibilities to further develop the relationship.

During the meeting, the two officials discussed ways to develop future football cooperation within the framework of exchanges of experience and regular communication in the interest of football in the two countries.

Qatar’s ongoing preparation to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup was also discussed at the meeting.

The two officials also spoke about Qatar’s first participation in the Gold Cup championship organized by CONCACAF. The event will be hosted by the United States from July 10 to August 1, 2021 of next year.

The Chargé d’Affaires hoped that QFA would continue to progress in the times to come.

Holtz appreciated the role played by the State of Qatar in the world of sport, noting that the host of the 2022 FIFA World Cup has hosted a series of top sporting events, attracting the best players from around the world. .

The American diplomat said she would do all her help to help Qatar and the United States to further develop their sports cooperation.

Following yesterday’s meeting, commemorative shields were exchanged.

The President of the QFA presented the official jersey of the Qatar national team to the Chargée d’Affaires decorated with her name and bearing the number 22.
